What this app is. Glow: Face Score takes a photo on your phone and measures it — how bright it is, how sharp, how evenly coloured, how much it reflects light. Those measurements become a score you can watch over time. It is a self-care tracking tool, not a medical device, and it does not diagnose anything.
What the score is, and isn't
The score is computed from the pixels of your photo by a fixed set of image measurements. It is not produced by a trained skin-analysis model, and no dermatologist has reviewed it.
Because it measures the photo, it is affected by the conditions the photo was taken in. Lighting, camera angle, distance and whether you are wearing makeup all move the number. Two photos taken minutes apart in different rooms can score differently. The app tells you when a scan was taken in materially different light from the one before it. The score is most useful when you scan in similar conditions each time and watch the direction it moves, and least useful when read as an absolute measurement of your skin.
Nothing in this app is medical advice. It cannot detect skin cancer, infection, allergy or any other condition, and an encouraging score is not evidence that nothing is wrong. If you have a concern about your skin, see a doctor or a dermatologist. Do not use this app to decide whether to seek care.
Any product suggestion the app makes is a product category — a moisturiser, a cleanser, an SPF. We do not recommend brands, we are not paid to suggest anything, and we have no commercial relationship with any skincare company. Patch-test new products and follow their instructions.
Your account
Signing in is optional. If you do, keep your Apple or Google account secure — anyone with access to it has access to yours. You must be 13 or older to use this app.
Subscriptions
Scanning is free for the first three days after you install. After that, scanning and the detailed breakdown, trends and routine require Glow Premium.
- Premium is offered as a weekly or annual auto-renewing subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Current prices are shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the period ending.
- Manage or cancel in your App Store or Google Play account settings — there is a shortcut in the app's Profile tab. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Payment is taken by Apple or Google, not by us. Refunds are handled under their policies; we cannot issue them.
Your content
Your photos are yours. They stay on your device and we never receive them, so we claim no rights over them and could not use them if we wanted to. You are responsible for photographing only yourself, or someone who has agreed to it.
Acceptable use
Don't use the app to harass, rate or compare other people, and don't reverse-engineer, redistribute or resell it. We may suspend access for either.
Availability and liability
The app is provided as is. We do not promise it will always be available, that the score will be accurate or meaningful for you, or that reminders will always arrive — push delivery depends on Apple, Google and your network. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and if you bought through an app store, that store's own terms also apply.
Changes and ending
We may update these terms; material changes will be noted in the app's release notes and dated at the top of this page. You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it, and by cancelling any subscription through your app store.
